Race 1 - Arjun @ 10/1
Comes up against 2 smart sorts, but I thought 1st run was decent, and on times was decent run. Is now only carrying 50.5Kg's with the claim. Also been by Vercingetorix, will hopefully like a bit in the ground. Hopeing can at least place and will go Top 4 tomorrow at Hollywood.
Race 2 - Order of Hope @ 18/1
Like this one on breeding, full brother to the decent Hugs Accepted who I always rated. Also liked a bit of cut in the ground so will be taking this weighted to places again.
Will post more later.

Race 1
Arjuna EW 10/1
Like that thinking the same here KT. I am a sucker for low weight runners in 1000m sprints, and all it takes is a fast start and they are hard to catch. Arjuna produced a promising debut run and was close behind in finishing fifth. She is the only filly taking on males in this race, and with the additional 4kg claim, she is running with just 50.5kgs. I will take my chances on her to run into the money.
Race 2
The Mikado EW 9/1
The Mikado produced an eye-catching debut run and then followed up with a disappointing run as an even-money favourite in his next start. He was very green in that run and switched strides throughout the finish. He has been rested for 11 weeks, and if he can reproduce that debut effort, I like his EW odds, especially with Rachel Venniker taking off a further 1.5kgs.
Race 3
You Bring Me Joy EW 6/1
Quid Pro Quo could be something special and was impressive in his Grade 1 win. Based off that formline, the bookies think Whistle The Tune should win this race and at 25/10, is a worthy favourite, if she can run similar to what she produced behind Quid Pro Quo. In juvenile races, I prefer to be backing EW odds than low odds favourites, as all these horses could have more to come and are progressive. For that reason, I prefer backing You Bring Me Joy EW at 6/1, rather than taking the 25/10 favourite. The fav should win, but I think YBMJ, will give her a proper test, even with the wide draw. She had solid form in Gauteng, and then won on her first start in KZN. She has good speed, and should use that to overcome her wide draw.
Race 4
Havana Moon EW 7/1
Another juvenile listed race, and Great Plains should win and get the hat trick, and was very impressive in his last run, especially the way he put that field away down the stretch. Again at 25/10, he is the right one here but as I mentioned above I like taking EW value with juveniles. Havana Moon finished 0.5L behind Great Plains in their only meeting in his last start, and sure Great Plains won again convincingly after that, while Havana Moon has been rested for 10 weeks. He may have more to come after being rested, and who knows maybe he could produce another close finish with Great Plains.
Race 5
Jordan EW 9/1
A tough race and will probably need to load up in the exotics. Jordan has gone about his work without much fanfare and he was rewarded for his decent form with an impressive win in Joburg. The majority of the Durban July topic shares the same sentiments as South that Barbaresco is a lurker in that race, and Jordan beat both Barbaresco and William Iron Arm in his last start, sure he was getting weight, but his run was still impressive and caught the eye. If his travels went well, and he settles on the Greyville track, I like his chances to reproduce that winning run against this field.

Jordan I think is above average as well based on the exact same reasons. If I may ask, where did you get the 9/1. Best I have seen so far is 7/1.
Thanks

I got the 9/1 around 8pm last night. I was supposed to post my selections last night but was still doing the write up. At midday today Jordan was 8.33/1 at Hollywoodbets and see its not dropped to 7.14/1

Race 2: I'm with Dapper, looks like its shortened a bit into 11/2. Debut formline working out well, 3rd run to Commanding and 3kg allowance off the fav here enough to sway me.
Race 4: I make this quite open, Snaith a strong hand but tentative call on Mount Pinatubo at around 5/1 right now. First 2 runs were really good, not sure went wrong when backed in third run but note the gelding since. Might need one more without his nads to really come on but still makes appeal.
Race 5: Wide open but Imlemenzineyokuduma ran a cracker from a gate 14 last time, making up ground late on over a trip I thought might be a touch far. There are a few very closely matched on that 11th May run and plenty others with good claims but with gate 5 this time I'm with the Hollywood runner at around 6/1 right now
Race 6: Don't really want to take the fav on here although it did fluff the lines when deep in the red last time out
Race 7: What a race, so many with chances as South mentioned early in the week. At the prices Cousin Casey (12/1) appeals most though he will have to be right back to his best
Race 8: I'm a big fan of Teflon Man who got no sort of run last time out although 22/10 is very short. The Muscutt runners could be value but I will stick with TM.
Race 9: Nautical Landing (2/1) looks ready to win to me although Silver Jubilee (Silvano x Jet Master mare) should be a threat over her longest trip to date and is more attractively priced at 6/1. Might side with the latter and hope I don't regret it.
Top entertainment to look forward to, shot guys, play well

A few for me -
G2 Kinnikinnik @ 14/1 ew. First timer for DK yard starting to tick over nicely, and owners have a hot fave in DGS later on card so suspect they'll be on course.
G4 French Bolt @ 16/1 ew. Yard is deadly raiding KZN, FB beat nothing last time out but plum draw and might appreciate trip.
G5 Navajo Nation @ 20/1 ew. Decent effort beyind July favourite @ level weights, 20/1 feels big on that run.
still need to look @ other races.

G9 Hurricane Flight 50/1, no hope on form but i'm purely going on jock booking which is a bit odd, he rarely rides outside Cape but up for just 2 rides today, his other one is best chance but just caught my eye.

Naidoo wrote: As South and Chris mentioned, what an amazing day of racing once again tomorrow and that Gold Challenge race is stacked! Plenty with chances of winning....just a few of my picks from the early races. For Race 6 I probably will banker DGS and then load up in Race 7. Very tough race to call and don't have a top selection as so many with chances.

An absolute bloodbath at Greyville today, all my selections finished closer to the back of the field than the front!

Only one thing to do now, try and salvage something, so hoping for a result in the big one, Al Muthana EW @ 50/1

Race 1 - Omnipotent @ 75/1
Half sister to Gallavanting and King of the Gauls, both who were very quick early. Concern is draw and stable normally dont always have them ready. But at that price worth a shot.
Race 4 - Bilungial @ 11/1
Some decent form over C&D, no super stars in the field.
Race 6 - Mastership @ 18/1
Holds 2nd fav at the weights on earlier runs.
COmplete outsider is Princeofgreen.
Enjoy the racing and good luck
